Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat is one of the first properties in Vietnam that offer the Forest Bathing Experience. Set within 108  Square kilometres of protected natural forest and amidst the outstanding natural beauty of the Ba Vi National Park, our retreat is the perfect place to experience the calming, neurologically beneficial therapy of forest bathing or "taking in the forest atmosphere".

WHAT IS FOREST BATHING

It’s an easy hike of approximately 5 kilometers to the hidden Ngoc Hoa Stream and should take about 1.5 – 2 hours. This is not exercise or hiking. . This is a sensory experience. It is simply being in nature, connecting with it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch, to indulge all our senses into the bliss of Nature by some very simple practices.

  • Mindful walk in the nature, leaving your electronic devices behind to experience the trees, ferns and the pristine land unencumbered, using all five senses.

ABOUT SHINRIN YOKU

“Shinrin-yoku was developed in the 1980s in Japan has become a vital part of preventative healthcare in the country. Although people had been taking walks in the country’s forests for centuries, new studies showed that such activity could reduce blood pressure, lower cortisol levels and improve concentration and memory. A chemical released by trees and plants, called phytoncides, was found to boost the immune system. As more research highlighted the benefits of shinrin-yoku, the Japanese government incorporated it into the country’s health programme."

  2. Tour available  08:30 AM - 2:00 PM daily. 

  3. This tour also involves walking. To the best enjoyment of the tour, please wear long-sleeved shirts, comfortable non-slip walking shoes, mosquito repellent spray.

  4. Please book your experience 24hrs prior.

  5. Maximum 6 guests per trip

  6. Discount 10% for group 4-6 pax go together.
